Kulin District High School is a rural school located 283 km south east of Perth in the Central South Region of the Western Australian Wheatbelt. The town services the agricultural needs of the predominantly wheat/sheep farming areas. Kulin is 108kms from Narrogin, 24kms from Kondinin, 55kms from Corrigin, 70kms from Lake Grace and 87kms from Hyden (Wave Rock). Other townships within the Shire include Dudinin, Pingaring, Holt Rock and Jitarning.

Students attending the school generally come from within the Shire; however, some students from Kondinin Primary School do opt to complete their secondary studies at Kulin. Most of the secondary intake is made up of students from Kulin and Kondinin. Seven buses service the school.
